DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming symposium “Sc
ience: To Be Determined”\, taking place on 3–4 March 2026 at the Germa
n Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv)\, Leipzig.\nWhy we d
o what we do – and how we can do it better \nScience plays a central rol
e in addressing today’s global challenges. Researchers are increasingly
called upon to be innovative\, collaborative\, and socially engaged\, whil
e navigating structural and ethical challenges such as balancing productiv
ity with integrity. These dynamics are amplified by rapid advances in AI a
nd rising public skepticism toward science.\nIn this symposium\, we aim to
establish a shared understanding of what responsible and rigorous science
entails\, fostering better collaboration and strengthening both our indiv
idual and collective research practices. While rooted in biodiversity rese
arch\, these questions resonate far beyond disciplinary boundaries — mak
ing this an event for all who care about the future of science.\nAbout the
event\n📅 When: 3–4 March 2026📍 Where: German Centre for Integrati
