The German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) was founded in 2012 with a grant from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). 

Mission
  • To understand the biodiversity of life on Earth in its complexity, functions, and interactions with people; 
  • To develop scientific knowledge for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, together with the international scientific community and society;
  • To advance the field of integrative biodiversity research, through scholarly contributions, education, capacity building, and the promotion of early-career researchers. 
Directions

From Halle/Leipzig (LEJ) Airport to iDiv: 
Take the suburban train S5 or S5X and get off at “Leipzig MDR”, have a 12-minute walk to iDiv (map 1)   

From Halle/Leipzig (LEJ) to City Centre:
Take suburban train S5 or S5X and get off at “Leipzig Markt”.  

From Leipzig Main Station to iDiv:
Take tram 16 towards “Lößnig” and get off after 7 stops at “An den Tierkliniken”. iDiv is across the street.  

From the city centre to iDiv:
Take tram 16 direction “Lößnig” from “Hauptbahnhof”, “Augustusplatz” or “Roßplatz” (map 2) and get off at “An den Tierkliniken”. iDiv is just across the street.
