Description
Metabarcoding is a powerful approach to study biodiversity across a wide range of organisms and ecosystems. However, integrating molecular data into ecological research remains challenging.
The iBarc Support Unit at iDiv provides guidance, infrastructure, and expertise to researchers interested in integrating metabarcoding approaches into their projects. We offer to accompany you throughout the entire metabarcoding workflow, or or help with specific steps, including project planning, sample preparation, DNA extraction, PCR and library construction, sequencing strategies (e.g. Illumina, Nanopore, PacBio etc.), and downstream bioinformatic analysis across diverse taxonomic groups.
This poster introduces the iBarc Support Unit and shows the workflow how researchers can integrate metabarcoding into their projects with our help. We also highlight example metabarcoding projects from different users of iBarc across the iDiv network, illustrating how metabarcoding is being applied to address diverse ecological and biodiversity research questions.
We welcome researchers at all career stages and with all levels of experience in metabarcoding, from beginners to advanced users. iBarc aims to facilitate exchange, support project development, and help establish metabarcoding as an integral tool in biodiversity and ecological research within the iDiv scientific network.
